Poetic Arrangement

from one of my poems written in 1981

rewritten by a friend and I in 2016

that friend is gone now this is our collaboration

THE CLEAR PATH

The obstructed path drowns my air of life

I know not how I will breathe again

The clear path is condemned through ages of strife

I know not how I will feel at peace again

The willingness to do what it is right

I know nothing of the shadows molesting the road

The reluctance of omni view illuminates for us all, day and night

I know nothing of the home that awaits me on the road

The damaged path in this world awaits silently and with malice

I know nothing of the lives that cried

The clear path in this world awaits your arrival from the palace

I know nothing of eternity other than I cried

The everlasting promise exacerbates the depths of longing

I know nothing of the heavens that are full of strangers

The sound of inevitability crawls deeply upon me

I know nothing of these emotions expressed by strangers

The final path and last of the suns calls for sacrifice and acceptance of fate

I know nothing of good people but all of their sorrows

The clear path and birth of the moons shine with a gentle embrace

I know nothing and even less if I will be here to walk it alone
