I would have edited in my next thought.

It has to do with the way people deal with failure especially in relationships. People don’t like to have bad relationships and because of that they tend to end up in the same situation over and over again trying to solve the original problem. How many times have we heard someone say I will never get in a relationship like that again only to end up in exactly the same situation. It’s human nature to try to solve the problem. Unfortunately most don’t realize that that is what they are doing.

Just to clarify this is why I came to my original conclusion.
