There is a broken heart cooking and cleaning
There is a broken heart picking up the tattered remains of another failed attempt
There is a broken heart waiting for a no show
There is a broken heart listening to how she didn’t understand
There is a broken heart ,her tears are rolling down her cheek and she doesn’t know no why
There is a broken heart that prays for a miracle
There is a broken heart that never will be the same
There is a broken heart uncertain of her fate
There is a broken heart that nursed away the illness
There is a broken heart that stands vigil when nobody else will
There is a broken heart that asked for little and gave everything
There is a broken heart that continues to pay
There is a broken heart that can never trust again
There is a broken heart that can care less for how much time is left.
There is a broken heart that knows you are not coming home
There is a broken heart that would like to point out the offender
There is a broken heart that never passes blame
You probably want me to say something nice
end this piece on an upbeat
but you know that it’s not always quite that way it goes
…don’t you
That is because
you know the feeling of that broken heart 💔
Darling’s eyes never leave the local newspaper to see her standing there with her suitcase.

Darling briefly looks up then back to his newspaper before continuing…Hon turns and walks out the kitchen door.
