A note to a great friend

This morning I stood defiant in the face of such thing . I feel alone in times like this. very much figuratively as much as literally. I am alone . and often lonely. I could quit , God knows I want to. but if I do , then they win. I do this for myself , but the reality is I do it so others don’t have to. Now I just have to convince myself of this. It will get better. It just doesn’t feel that way today.
